Serves as a member of the school based resource team under the direction of the school principal with support from the Coordinator of Elementary Integrated Mathematics, and the Title I Office. Assists school staff with the implementation of curriculum and programs for mathematics. Assists in providing professional development and facilitating collaborative planning. Coordinates the implementation of identified mathematics intervention programs, strategies and instructional support. Provides leadership, expertise and resource support to teachers to ensure that approved mathematics practices are implemented with fidelity, enabling students to improve their understanding and proficiency in mathematics and reach their full academic potential. | |||

1. Analyzes data to determine student progress and achievement. 2. Monitors collection of identified mathematics intervention data. 3. Assists school administrators in monitoring program fidelity and implementation. 4. Facilitates collaborative planning and conducting professional development. Provides regular assistance to classroom teachers in implementing curriculum, refining teaching strategies, and adding new procedures to their teaching repertoire. 5. Collaborates with the mathematics office, the Title I office, and other appropriate stakeholders to assure that appropriate professional development is provided. 6. Assists with the creation and implementation of school procedures and guidelines to provide schools with steps for student identification, data interpretation, assessment, analysis, and scheduling of students. 7. Assists with the implementation of the School Improvement Plan. 8. Assists with monitoring, planning, and maintaining Title I program, budget documentation and events. 9. Attends county math and Title I meetings to support schools in implementation of county directives and suggestions as related to best math practices. 10. Builds teacher capacity by modeling lessons, co-teaching, collaborative coaching and supporting small group instruction with teachers and students. 11. Performs other duties as assigned. | |||

Education | |||
· Hold or be eligible for a Maryland State Board of Education Advanced Professional Certificate with an Early Childhood, Elementary Education, Special Education or Secondary Mathematics endorsement | |||

Experience | |||
· Five years of effective classroom teaching experience in the area of mathematics. | |||
| |||
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities | |||
· Knowledge of K-5 mathematics curriculum, instruction and intervention program(s) in environments that include special education and underserved populations. · Extensive knowledge of strategies, techniques, and processes involved in mathematics instruction that can be applied across curriculum areas and grade levels. · Knowledge of methods and practices for data collection and analysis. · Ability to interact with diverse populations that includes, students, school system personnel and the community. · Ability to employ business technology tools (e.g. E-mail, AACPS Intranet, electronic benefits enrolment tool, Microsoft Office Suite, etc.). | |||
